Definitions


A noun is a word use to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea.
A verb is a word which shows action or state of being.
A subject is includes words that tell us what the sentence about.
A predicate includes all the worlds that describe the action or situation of the subject.
A direct object tells us who or what receives the action of the verb.
An indirect object tells us to whom or for whom an action is done.
A common noun is a general name for a class of objects, people or places.
A proper noun is a name of specific person, place or thing. It always begins with a capital letter.
An appositive noun  is a noun, group of nouns or phrase that follows and explains another noun.
